- A Boat Rental Agreement will be completed at check-in. The person providing the security deposit must be the one to sign it.
- Rentals do not include gasoline or sales tax. You pay only for the fuel you use.
- Full rental fee and security deposit are required at check-in.
- All boats must remain on Glen Lake and are not to be transported to other lakes.
- Weekly or overnight rentals must be returned by sundown, or kept on a secure mooring approved by On The Narrows Marina.
- No refunds for rentals returned early.
- If reserved equipment is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to offer substitute equipment of equal or greater value, or reschedule/cancel your reservation.
Security deposit
A $500 security deposit is required for all boat rentals at time of check-in. Security deposits are separate from rental fees and may be paid by cash or pre-authorized credit card.
Cancellations & rebooking
7+ days
before
Full refund eligible. Cancel up to 7 days before your reservation for a 100% refund, less a 10% processing fee. You may also rebook for the same season at no additional charge, subject to availability.
Within
7 days
No refund. Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the reservation deposit/payment — unless Trip Protection was purchased at original booking.
Within
24 hours
No changes, refunds, or cancellations. No exceptions within 24 hours of departure.
No-show
100% forfeiture. Failure to commence the reservation as scheduled results in full forfeiture of any funds received. Not eligible for rebooking.

rentals@narrows-marina.com. The timestamp of the received email is the official cancellation time. Follow up by phone at (231) 334-4891 for confirmation — but only the email request is considered valid for cancellation or rebooking purposes.
Trip protection
Cancel for any reason, up to 24 hours before departure.
Purchasing Trip Protection allows you to cancel or change your booking up to 24 hours before your departure without loss of your deposit — for any reason. No fees, no hassle, no questions.
Select the Trip Protection option when you see the accessories (like skis or tubes) during booking. The fee will be calculated and added to your total at checkout.

Weather policy
Full refunds are only issued for non-boatable days — meaning it is genuinely unsafe to boat due to lightning, pouring rain, or extremely rough water.
- If it is raining in the early morning, weather often clears by 10am. Check the full-day forecast before deciding to cancel.
- Cloudy days, chilly days, and light rain or drizzle are considered boatable days and are not eligible for a refund.
- Any exceptions to the above policies are at the sole discretion of On The Narrows Marina.
